Questions to Ask Before Buying Artificial Grass

Lately, more people prefer artificial grass over natural grass. Considering the easy maintenance and its efficiency, this fake turf fits many areas to fill in. Starting from the sunbathing spot in a home to the wide field for sports, artificial grass could serve several functions. If you are planning to have one too, there are some questions to ask before buying artificial grass. Those questions refer to many aspects like the price, the quality, the size, the length, and the type. Numerous brands provide fake turf, so it means that there are more options to choose the grass. To find the cheap artificial grass with the best quality, answer these questions first.

What is your intention of installing artificial grass?

The goal affects the rest of the answers because it is related to its functions. As there are many several types of synthetic turf, some turfs might not suit certain purposes. Like synthetic turf for the football field might not be comfy if it is installed at your home sunbathing spot. Before ordering the grass, you are better to list the spots and their functions.

What is the measurement of the size?

After you find out where the spaces that need to be covered by the turf are, measure them. This information will surely be needed by the manufacturers to cut the size area of the grass.

Who will pass on the grass?

A drawback of installing artificial grass is that the grass might have footprints if there is too much foot traffic on it. The frequent pressure of feet could flatten the grass over time. If you put the grass on a walking route, having a walkway railroad or footpath is more recommended as it could save the grass from the foot pressure.

What are the suitable lengths and heights for the grass?

Some turfs are available in several heights and lengths. Those different sizes serve different purposes. Longer grass is usually used for sports purposes like football or soccer. For home purposes like porch, playground, small garden, and others, the suggested length will be 30 to 37 mm.

How dense should the grass be?

Density is related to the weight of the grass. Mostly there are two types of weight that are face weight and backing weight. Face weight relates to the weight of the yarn for each square yard of the grass and backing eight relates to the backing and the additional coating per square yard of the grass. The weight difference will show in outdoor and indoor installments. The indoor installment usually uses lighter weight.

Is there any drainage system?

You might think that indoor fake turf does not require drainage. Well, it could be wrong. Drainage is needed for cleaning purposes. If the grass has liquid dirt the only way to clean it is by throwing water on it. The synthetic grass is not able to absorb it. For outdoor, any water spill or cleaning will be easier because the soil underneath could absorb water naturally.

What is your budget for the fake turf?

After understanding the need, the specification, and the size, it is now to do some surveys online and offline. Some manufacturers provide different types of artificial turf at different prices. Just look at the details and the prices. Compare them and find the best quality yet cheap artificial grass that you need.
